Sir my question is that is it good to play bollywood songs on flute from the beginning or should we practice Raagas first?

If you are absolutely beginner...means if you just have started playing flute then you should work on alankars so that you can move fingers on flute smoothly...but if you are playing from 6months or more then you definitely try some simple raagas like yaman ....and playing songs on flute is another thing you can start playing songs on flute anytime but this is not gonna really help you to improve your skills...so I thinks you should focus on alankars,long notes ,simple raagas and sometimes songs
